Captain Bob Riley

Captain Riley is a US Coast Guard licensed Captain and holds an American Sailing Association Mediterranean Yacht Helmsman Certification. He has about 10,000 open-ocean nautical miles with yacht delivery and racing experience including eight years at the King’s Cup Regatta, Phuket, Thailand where he placed 2nd overall in the Cruising Class. Capt. Bob has sailing instructor experience with Wash. DC Potomac, Chesapeake Bay and Caribbean sailing schools.

Following a successful biotechnology career, Capt. Bob returned to his sailing interest to master larger yacht sailing. He has received advanced sailing and navigation certifications from the American Sailing  Association. The USCG Captain’s License involves extensive US inland and International ship-handling, safety and navigation courses and requires a minimum of 360 sailing days each five years.

Capt. Bob has extensive experience sailing in many of the premier sailing areas worldwide. With his companys Cabin Charter Sailing LLC and Cabin Charter Sailing Malta LTD he has  completed over 150 week-long charters in the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Thailand. He also sails frequently in the Chesapeake Bay and is a member of DC Sail, the PSA Sailing Club, Galesville, MD and the Baltimore – Annapolis Sailing Club.
